Systems Engineering

Systems Engineering

Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that seeks to apply the sciences of engineering, the analysis of systems and the management of people to find ways of doing things in a more productive, efficient and sustainable manner.

Our ME and MEngSc programmes in Engineering with Business and Engineering Management, minors in the new European Institute of Technology (EIT) ME Manufacturing (Zero Defect Manufacturing for Circular Economy; Platforms for Digital Value Networks) and Professional Diploma in Operations Excellence prepare graduates for diverse careers in a wide array of roles and sectors, including manufacturing, supply chain management and logistics, consulting, engineering services, health care, energy, robotics and automation.

Our masters programmes provide students from all engineering backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to design, model, analyse, and improve complex engineering systems, incorporating people, advanced technologies and resources. A common theme across our programmes is the use of data analytics and simulation models as well as computer-aided platforms to support engineering management and decision making. Our programmes draw on resources from engineering, business and behavioural sciences, which bridges the divide between engineering and management.
