Do I need to make a disclosure?

All applicants and students of the University are required to disclose certain convictions or pending prosecutions - see Section 2 of the Policy   Relevant Offence Risk Assessment Policy. Please email all relevant details to  (opens in a new window)studentvetting@ucd.ie ,putting  "Attn: Dean of Students" in the subject line. Any information disclosed will be treated in the strictest confidence and used only for the purposes of risk assessment in line with the policy.


When do I have to send my disclosure?

You should submit it as soon as is feasible. If you are an undergraduate applicant you must submit it as early as possible but no later than 1 May prior to proposed entry.


If I disclose an offence does that mean I won't be offered a place?

Not necessarily. However, in order to balance the interests of the applicant/student with the University’s reputation and responsibilities to provide a safe and secure environment for its staff, students, visitors and others. the University reserves the right to carry out a risk assessment on any current or prospective student with respect to an offence,
