70th Anniversary
The UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering is delighted to invite you to our 70th Anniversary Dinner! Join your fellow alumni, faculty, and friends on Friday, 16 October 2026 for this celebration, which will be held at O'Reilly Hall in UCD Belfield.
Honouring 70 Years of Graduates
The School was established in 1952, and the inaugural class of just three students - Timothy McCarthy, Peter O'Callaghan, and Michael O'Keeffe (pictured above) - began their studies under the late Professor John O'Donnell. We are proudly marking the 70th anniversary of the graduation of these first students in 1956 with this celebration in 2026.
Since then, over 2,300 graduates have played leading roles in diverse sectors worldwide, most notably in driving the development of Ireland's chemical, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors, which account for more than half of all Irish exports.
Save the Date and Reconnect
Over one-third of the alumni base attended the 60th Anniversary dinner in 2016, and we hope to see an even larger cohort represented at the 70th celebration!

Become a Class Champion!
This event is a great opportunity to bring your chemical engineering class back together for a catch-up and a trip down memory lane. We are looking for volunteers to form a small committee of Class Champions to help us round up the troops and ensure that your class is represented.
