Symposium: New and Emerging Voices in Constitutional Law
Symposium: New and Emerging Voices in Constitutional Law
UCD Sutherland School of Law, 23 March 2023
Deadline for Abstracts: 20 January 2023
The UCD Centre for Constitutional Studies is delighted to invite early career scholars interested in any area of constitutional law to participate in its inaugural ‘New and Emerging Voices in Constitutional Law’ symposium, which will take place in person at the UCD Sutherland School of Law on Thursday 23 March 2023.
The conference is co-organised by Seána Glennon and Eoin Carolan and is intended to provide an opportunity for emerging scholars to present their work and to obtain feedback and insights from other colleagues in the field. Applications from final year undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, lecturers and assistant professors who have not held an academic position for more than five years, are welcome.
It will also be an opportunity for attendees to network with both senior colleagues and others at a similar career stage and to learn from each other about emerging research ideas, approaches and projects currently underway.
Participants whose abstracts are selected will be expected to provide a more detailed written paper and/or presentation in advance of the event, in order to allow for a fuller discussion of your work on the day. Papers may touch on any aspect of constitutional law, constitutional politics or constitutional theory. Comparative papers are also welcome.
Interested scholars should submit a title and abstract (maximum 500 words) by the above deadline to Professor Eoin Carolan eoin.carolan@ucd.ie and Seána Glennon seana.glennon@ucdconnect.ie
There is no registration fee to participate in this conference. A limited number of bursaries will be available to cover necessary travel and accommodation expenses. If you wish to be considered for a bursary, please indicate this in the cover email to your submission.
Any queries may be directed to the above email addresses.
