(ii) If you are printing from MacOS, choose the Preset even if it already shows as being selected.  Sometimes the saved details don't automatically get set if this isn't done.

(iii) If you are printing from MacOS and are using an application that does not display the system print dialog box, there is an extra step you need to take when printing. The following two examples are when using Adobe Acrobat Reader to print PDF files and when using Google Chrome to print a webpage.

Adobe Acrobat Reader
Adobe Acrobat Reader will display this dialog box when printing:

In order to force the system print dialog box to open, click on the Printer... button at the bottom. Once the printer and the Preset are selected in this dialog box, click Print and then Print again on the main dialog box:

Please check your Spam folder in Gmail as follows:

Log into UCD Connect

Go into Gmail

In the folder list on the left-hand side, scroll down to the bottom and click Spam

Check to see if any of the failed scans are in there. They usually have a From address of (opens in a new window)cp.scan@ucd.ie

If they are there, click the checkbox next to one of them and choose 'Not Spam' at the top

If you still cannot retrieve any further scans, please contact Copi-Print on (opens in a new window)cp@ucd.ie.

There are any number of reasons why a job will not print. Firstly, there could be a network issue.

The printer may have jammed or the document might be corrupt or formatted in a way that the printer cannot interpret for some reason.

If it was a PDF file and you were using Adobe Acrobat Reader to print, there is an Advanced button in the print dialog box. Under this section there is a checkbox called 'Print as image'. Put a check in this box. Sometimes this can help certain PDF files to print correctly as it flattens the layers of the document into an image.

You could also try printing to a different printer.

If you still have trouble printing, please contact Copi-Print on (opens in a new window)cp@ucd.ie.
