Career & Skills Consultant

As the Career & Skills Consultant for the College of Engineering & Architecture, Nicola works with employers, faculty and staff to develop opportunities for students, and to support them both individually and in groups on their career journey.

Nicola looks after students from:

  • UCD School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering
  • UCD School of Civil Engineering
  • UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering
  • UCD School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Karina Septore

Career & Skills Consultant

As a Career and Skills Consultant, Karina works with students from the UCD College of Science and Engineering, encouraging them in reaching their career potential via workshops and one-to-one appointments. Prior to joining UCD, Karina worked with students and graduates in a career development capacity within the Higher Education setting in the UK and Ireland.

Karina looks after students from:

  • UCD School of Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy
  • UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering
  • UCD School of Chemistry
  • UCD School of Biology & Environmental Science

Getting Started - Our Online Resources

You will find a wide range of online resources for students on our website, including the Career Guide for Students from the College of Engineering & Architecture. This guide is updated annually and includes both general careers advice, as well as specific information for students from the UCD College of Engineering & Architecture.

To find out more about your career options, you can also check out “(opens in a new window)Exploring Careers with my Degree”. These school level webpages provide fantastic insight into typical pathways from your degree, as well as access to information on what alumni from your specific course have moved on to next.

Students can also access “(opens in a new window)Career Ready Pathways” - self-paced online programmes designed to empower UCD students to take the next step forward in their career journey. Students select one of seven statements that most closely reflects your current career thinking and you will be guided through a number of actions designed to move you closer to your goals.

The UCD Careers Network also offers a range of other support, ranging from regular (opens in a new window)Careers Workshops, and employer events such as our annual recruitment fairs, to 121 meetings with our teams of Consultants. To schedule a meeting with either Nicola, Karina or one of their colleagues, you can book online directly. The appointments are bookable from 8am the working day before.
