MENTOR A THIRD-YEAR ENGINEERING STUDENT
The UCD Career Mentoring Programme enhances the educational and student experience at UCD through facilitated, student-centred career development mentoring with alumni. This year, the program will be open to third-year engineering students for the first time, with the opportunity to meet and network with a professional alumni mentor at least three times over a six month period. Mentoring sessions can take place face to face, online, or by telephone. All sessions are supported by both the UCD Careers Network and UCD Alumni Relations team. If you are interested in becoming an alumni mentor, please register your interest here.

PARTICIPATE IN A MOCK INTERVIEW
The EGA sponsors an annual mock-interview program designed to help current UCD Engineering students develop and hone their interview skills. UCD Eng/Arch alumni who are willing to share their interviewing expertise are invited to participate in the process. The program is usually held early in the autumn semester. Please indicate your interest in volunteering for this program by emailing Laura Egan O’Brien (laura.egan-obrien@ucd.ie).

SERVE AS AN EGA BOARD MEMBER
The Engineering Graduates Association is governed by a board of UCD staff, faculty, and alumni volunteers. The EGA board meets on-campus several times a year to plan and execute EGA activities. Board members are generally elected at the Annual General Meeting in November or December. Email ega@ucd.ie for more information.

ACT AS A GLOBAL ALUMNI AMBASSADOR
Can you provide advice and support to global Eng/Arch offer-holders as they decide whether or not they will take up their offer to study in Ireland? This program connects potential international students with UCD graduates through the UCD Alumni Network. Sign up and find more information about how you can help here.If you have questions about the UCD Global Alumni Ambassador Programme or would like further information, you can email the team at alumnivolunteer@ucd.ie.

OFFER AN INTERNSHIP
Internships at a University level equip students with the real life experience, skills and insights to increase their confidence and to boost employment prospects. As a graduate, by offering an internship in your business or industry, you could help students develop transferable skills and grow their network to help them achieve their ambitions. You will also benefit from the perspective of a UCD student in your business!

The Master of Engineering (ME) and the BSc Landscape Architecture programs incorporate a Professional Work Experience (PWE) Internships module designed to integrate students’ academic and career interests with practical work experience for a period of 6-8 months. If you have any specific queries in relation to internships please contact Eibhlin Loughman or Fionnuala McGowan, Internship Managers by email at eainternships@ucd.ie or call +353 1 716 1870.

STUDENT SUPPORT FUND
Faculty and staff within the College of Engineering & Architecture are deeply committed to ensuring equality of access and opportunity for our students. As such, a College-level Support Fund has been developed to make it easy for alumni and friends of UCD to support our students. Support Funds seek to enhance the educational experience of UCD students and to ensure greater equality of access to opportunities. These funds are allocated towards needs-based financial support, bursaries for experiential learning (e.g. internships or volunteer positions), funding for equipment or capital projects (e.g. equipment for labs or small capital), merit-based awards for post-graduate study, and other activities that enhance student’s experience. UCD FOUNDATION
The UCD Foundation was established in 1997 to advance the strategic goals and objectives of University College Dublin under the direction of an independent Board of Directors. The Foundation fundraises for core priorities like student hardship through the UCD Champions ‘Opening Doors’ Alumni Fund in addition to pressing public health-related challenges through the UCD COVID-19 Emergency Fund and the UCD Breakthrough Research Fund among other programs.

FUTURE CAMPUS
UCD’s Future Campus is a significant capital campaign that will inspire and nurture generations of students, providing the highest standards of learning facilities and demonstrating our active commitment to supporting creativity and innovation. This investment in our campus will produce the UCD Centre for Creativity and the UCD Centre for Future Learning. Alongside a highly attractive arrival plaza, these two buildings will consolidate the College of Engineering and Architecture into a distinct precinct for the first time, providing a ‘living lab’ and home to UCD’s maker spaces, design studios and laboratories. Importantly, Future Campus designs also allow for flexible use of space that will accommodate increasing numbers of students and faculty members in the College of Engineering & Architecture. Contact Jordan Campbell, Head of Campaigns at UCD Foundation, for more information (by phone +353 (0)1 716 1272; or email  jordan.campbell@ucdfoundation.ie).
