Spring Trimester Transfers - Indicative Places

Subject to availability of places, applications for transfer or readmission to stage 1, Spring trimester 2025/26 will open from 19 November to 11 December 2025. If places remain, late applications may be opened in January 2026. It is unusual for places to be available in later stages, but any such places will be listed below when applications are open.

There is no guarantee that there will be places available in any course, nor that any application will be successful.

Applicants are advised to  refer to the relevant minimum eligibility requirements  and to  consult the UCD Course Search for course content information .  If, after reviewing that information, you have a query about potential compatibility between your current course and your target course in UCD, the respective  College/Programme Offices  are best placed to advise you (but please note that they may not be in a position to provide detailed advice in advance of an application being received).

Applicants not awaiting Autumn trimester examination results can expect to receive the outcome of their application from Admissions in mid-January.

Applicants awaiting Autumn trimester examination results will receive the outcome of their application after their results are received and processed by Admissions. For current UCD students, Autumn trimester examination results are due to be released on 29 January 2026.

The Spring trimester teaching term will start on 19 January 2026 and consequently, successful applicants may be late registering and joining their new course in the Spring trimester.

Note: (opens in a new window)if you have already started an application, use this link to access it. When applications are open, there will be links provided below to start an application form for the indicated programme and they must be used only once.

Important Notes for External Applicants:

  • For a UCD degree to be awarded, at least 50% of the overall programme credits must normally have been earned in UCD.
  • Your official, ratified examination results must be supplied in good time before the end of week 3 of the UCD Spring trimester, for the application to be considered. Please check with your current university whether your results will be ratified and available in time. Provisional results are not sufficient.
  • In 2025/26, the ratified results must be received by Wednesday, 4 February 2026 at the latest (i.e at least 2 working days prior to the end of week 3 of the UCD Spring trimester)
