Manna

Headquartered at NovaUCD, Manna is the world’s first aviation-grade B2B drone delivery ‘as-a-service’ platform. Building and operating unmanned aerial vehicles which perform high-speed deliveries of takeaway food, groceries and pharmacy goods/supplies in suburban last-mile settings, the service is quieter, greener, faster and safer than road-based alternatives. 

Sim4Blocks

EC-funded project focused on the development of innovative demand response (DR) services for residential and commercial applications. The project combined decentralised energy management technology at the blocks-of-buildings scale to enable DR.

iCHANGE

In collaboration with the Smart Dublin programme and schools across Dublin, this H2020 Innovation Action project aims to change behaviours and demonstrate sustainable transport solutions.

5G GaN2

Using Advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology to lower the cost and power consumption, and increase the output power of mm-wave active antenna systems, to enable fifth generation (5G) communications technologies.

Integrated Energy Lab

Testing new energy management technologies likely to be deployed in houses and small communities, in partnership between UCD Energy Institute and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). 

ALIVE

SEAI funded multi-disciplinary collaboration between UCD and the University of Galway assessing the capability of natural ventilation to reduce energy consumption, avoid overheating and maintain indoor environmental quality within energy-efficient buildings.

Go Eve

A UCD and Imperial College London spin-out, Go Eve is an Electric vehicle (EV) charging start-up. Its "DockChain” technology aims to make high-power DC charging cost-competitive with lower-power AC charging options. DockChain achieves this by extending the reach of single rapid chargers to service multiple parking spaces, whereas current EV charging technology only allows for one or two EVs to access a fast-charging station at a time.
