UCD Teaching & Learning are pleased to present a featured speaker series on Generative AI in Higher Education. The speakers have a wide range of experiences and bring external insights to UCD. As commercial GenAI tools continue to influence higher education discussions, this series offers the UCD Teaching & Learning community opportunities to engage with leading voices in educational technology, pedagogy, and assessment innovation. Each session will explore different dimensions of how GenAI is impacting conversations on teaching practices, curriculum design, and student learning experiences. These conversations aim to support colleagues in navigating the challenges and possibilities that GenAI presents, while fostering thoughtful, equity-minded approaches to technology integration in our teaching.

Dr Carter Moulton is a Faculty Developer at Colorado School of Mines' Trefny Innovative Instruction Centre, where he facilitates workshops on inclusive pedagogy, ungrading, and digital teaching practices. With a PhD in Screen Cultures from Northwestern University, Moulton brings an interdisciplinary perspective to educational development work, blending insights from media studies with pedagogical innovation. He is the creator of Analog Inspiration, a card deck designed to inspire human-centred teaching and learning in the age of generative artificial intelligence. Moulton's approach emphasises building classroom communities and fostering student belonging through trauma-informed, equity-minded practices. He is also a faculty member for the American Association of Colleges and Universities' Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum.
