You Said, We Did

We have reflected on progressing your requests and needs escalated to date with a summary list below of initiated working groups, projects and enhancements raised from our community.

You Said  We Did
It would be good to have an idea of how other areas run similar processes In late 2022 we ran a SMEC workshop with Assessment to explore procedures with a view to sharing practice across the University and to perhaps create common templates
Wish for the community to be kept informed when absent, with clear concise notes (no aconmyns) that are reliable to be shared  We take key notes from all Remote Working Group meetings and share them weekly with all who want them. To be added to this mailing list you can mail usm@ucd.ie
It is sometimes overwhelming using new technology for the first time as part of a workshop... USM team have specifically developed a workshop for new users of this tool, encompassing all basics in an interactive sesssion, designed to support staff navigating this technology in a simple manner to engage fully in the woirkshop
Sometimes we make changes to a student's record that would be good to capture in UniShare but is not an interaction... We created a new type of UniShare Contact Type for this, defined by the community as 'Internal Admin'
The UniShare reports do not include weekend data despite our (Estate Services) supporting students at that time UniShare reporting and weekly continuity email now include the entire week/weekend.
I'd like to be connected with other people who are involved in similar projects/processes or training We're continuing to support a variety of community learning groups set up for this purpose, including the recently (re)launched Excel Problem Solvers Group
It would be nice to have a template for Standard Operating Procedures if my office want to create them... SOP Templates were designed with input and expertise from community
Background noise is sometimes very distracting when people are presenting from busy offices to the Remote Working Group We have offered to accommodate staff presenting by booking a quiet space in Ardmore House
It would be helpful to hear from teams at key points in the academic calendar e.g. Registry teams ahead of registration; Curriculum Team during Curriculum build; Assessment ahead of Grade Approval Process; Timetabling team throughout timetabling etc. We reached out to more service providers who now attend RWG to give regular updates ahead of peak activities in the University calendar events eg HR, IT, Finance & Assessment
Maybe there could be an anonymous option for submitting queries or topics for discussion.    We have provided a form for anonymous submissions on our webpage to accommodate the raising of issues, challenges etc.
