Salem Djebala graduated as a veterinarian from Blida University (Algeria) in 2010 and worked there as a practitioner for one year. He then moved to the University of Liège (Belgium) for a one-year internship. In 2012, he began a new curriculum at the same university to obtain a European degree in Veterinary Medicine, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2015. After one year of practice in Belgium, he returned to the University of Liège as a clinician at the Ruminant Hospital and PhD student, earning his PhD in 2021. Since 2022, he has been working as a veterinary practitioner in Ireland, and in 2024, he started his ECBHM residency within the DVMS program at University College Dublin (UCD).
