William Mulligan

William Mulligan

Dr William Mulligan teaches modern international history at UCD. His research focuses on the history of international politics in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. After completing his PhD at the University of Cambridge he taught at UCD and the University of Glasgow. Dr Mulligan was a Member at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton in 2012, and in 2014, a EURIAS Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.

He has written The creation of the modern German army (Berghahn, 2005) and The origins of the First World War (Cambridge, 2010) and The Great War for Peace (Yale, 2014).
