A New High in Successful CSC Applications

Sunday, 23 May, 2021

China Scholarship Council (CSC) has just announced the result of 2021 CSC scholarship applications, and four applications from Chinese students to pursue their PhD studies in University College Dublin (UCD) under the supervision of Professor Da-Wen Sun have been successful, reaching a new high in successful CSC applications. Last year, three applicants were successful.

Professor Da-Wen Sun began to collaborate with CSC in 2010 and the first batch of three Chinese students all successfully completed their PhD study in UCD within 4 years, each publishing at least 5 high impact peer-reviewed papers in leading international journals (see details: Three PhD Students Supervised by Professor Da-Wen Sun Passed Their PhD Vivas in September 2014).

The UCD-CSC scheme is jointly funded by University College Dublin and China Scholarship Council affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. CSC scholarship provides living and related expenses for Chinese students, while UCD provides funding to cover their tuition fees.
