Another Record – Professor Da-Wen Sun Named Highly Cited Researcher in 8th Consecutive Year

Professor Da-Wen Sun, UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering, has been named 2022 Highly Cited Researcher, according to Clarivate Analytics, which just released the data recently. This is the 8th consecutive year that Professor Sun has been ranked among the world’s most influential researchers, reaching a new record for the number of times in receiving this prestigious award.
(opens in a new window)Highly Cited Researchers™ award individuals at universities, research institutes and commercial organizations who have demonstrated a disproportionate level of significant and broad influence in their field or fields of research. The methodology draws on data from the Web of Science™ citation index, together with analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)™ at Clarivate.
ISI analysts have awarded Highly Cited Researcher 2022 designations to 6,938 researchers from across the globe who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields over the last decade. The list is truly global, spanning 69 countries or regions and spread across a diverse range of research fields in the sciences and social sciences. Professor Sun has topped this list of the world’s most cited researchers in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
Professor Sun is an Academician of six academies including Royal Irish Academy, Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe), Polish Academy of Sciences, International Academy of Food Science and Technology, International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and International Academy of Refrigeration. He has published over 1000 papers including more than 700 peer-reviewed journal papers indexed by Web of Science, with Web of Science h-index = 112, SCOPUS h-index = 121 and Google Scholar h-index = 142, among them, 64 papers have been selected by the Essential Science IndicatorsSM as Highly Cited / Hot Papers in Field, ranking him No. 1 in the world in Agricultural Sciences (November 2020).
