Professor Da-Wen Sun Named Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate in the 5th Consecutive Year

According to 2019 Highly Cited Researchers report compiled by Clarivate Analytics, Professor Da-Wen Sun, UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering, is among the world’s most influential researchers. This is the 5th consecutive year that Professor Sun is ranked among Clarivate’s top 1% of researchers for most cited publications in Agricultural Sciences indexed by Web of Science. Earlier this year, Professor Sun topped the list of the world’s most cited researchers in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
Now in its sixth year, the ‘Highly Cited Researchers’ report identifies researchers over the last ten years who are leading the way in solving the world’s biggest challenges. Previously Professor Sun has been named a Highly Cited Researcher four consecutive times (2015-2018) by Clarivate Analytics.
The list is a citation analysis of researchers who are among the top 1% most cited for their field and year of publication in one or more of 21 fields of study. For the 2019 analysis, the papers surveyed were those published and cited during 2008 – 2018, and which then ranked in the top 1% by citations for their Essential Science Indicators field and year. This year’s ranking includes 23 Nobel laureates and, recognized some 6,200 researchers with the moniker of ‘Highly Cited Researcher’.
Professor Sun is an Academician of six academies including Royal Irish Academy, Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe), Polish Academy of Sciences, International Academy of Food Science and Technology, International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and International Academy of Refrigeration. He has published over 1000 papers including more than 500 peer-reviewed journal papers indexed by Web of Science, with Web of Science h-index = 97, SCOPUS h-index = 101 and Google Scholar h-index = 114, among them, 70 papers have been selected by the Essential Science IndicatorsSM as Highly Cited / Hot Papers in Field, ranking him No. 1 in the world in Agricultural Sciences (Oct 2019).
