UCD Writing Centre Welcomes DEIS Students

UCD Welcomes

In May 2017 the Writing Centre successfully ran a pilot project with two DEIS schools: Loreto College, Crumlin (picture 1) and St. Laurence College, Loughlinstown (picture 2).

Transition-Year and Fifth-Year students were invited into the Writing Centre for a day, where our writing tutors delivered workshops under the theme ‘Writing as a Skill, Writing as a Process, Writing as Practice’. The aim was to offer tips and strategies to students who want to improve their writing skills and to draw their attention to the value of clear, persuasive and effective writing in all aspects of their lives. The students also had a chance to learn about life at university, get a taste of higher education and possibly consider UCD as a potential option in future.
