Current Opportunities

Become a local buddy

Our UCD Alumni Buddy Programme links local alumni with new international students, to welcome them to Ireland and help them settle into their local community. (opens in a new window)Learn more and register here.

Mentor a student

As a UCD Career Mentor, you can mentor a UCD student in their penultimate or final year of University to offer them a unique and personalised perspective in their area of interest. (opens in a new window)Learn more and register here.

For something less structured, online career mentoring hosted on the UCD Alumni Network enables you to communicate directly with alumni or students, initiated by the mentor or mentee at any time. (opens in a new window)Join the Alumni Network here.

Volunteer at UCD events

We would be delighted to have your support to secure event speakers, organise venues, welcome attendees, and generate interest online. Events include open days, lectures, panel discussions, dinners, social gatherings, and public engagement events like UCD Festival.

Help plan a Reunion

For UCD-organised reunions, we engage alumni volunteers as class agents who reach out personally to inspire and encourage active participation in reunions, events and class gifts. If you would like to organise your own reunion, we can give you the tools to get started.

Host an event in your city

UCD organises social and academic events all over the world for incoming students and the alumni community. Whether you would like to open doors at your business, host an event, or offer a venue, we would love to hear from you.

Set up a special interest group

Special interest and affinity alumni groups offer unique opportunities to build professional and social networks, and are a great way to stay connected to UCD.

Current professional alumni associations include:

Contribute to a Class Note

UCD Connections magazine offers a great opportunity to reconnect with classmates and network with fellow alumni. You can share memories, professional achievements, and let people know what you are up to. (opens in a new window)Contribute to the next edition here.

Sit on a Global Chapter Committee

(opens in a new window)Global Chapters help you reconnect with the UCD community, no matter where you are in the world. Why not set up a new chapter in your city, or join an existing one to support their many social and academic events?

Offer an Internship or Placement

By offering an internship in your business or industry, you could help students develop transferable skills and grow their network to help them achieve their ambitions.

Talk about your career path

Alumni are crucial for speaking to students and fellow graduates. You can give advice, share industry insights, and showcase your career journey after graduation. This can be live at UCD events in person and online, or creating a written or video testimonial with us.

Talk about your student experience

Joining events to meet and greet the next generation of UCD students is a great way to share your UCD experience and promote the benefits of studying here. You can also create a written or video testimonial instead, to be shared online and in course brochures.

Set up an Alumni Network profile

Join our online (opens in a new window)Alumni Network and outline how you are willing to help mentor alumni, offer advice, review CVs, open doors and make introductions, or even find a mentor for yourself.
