Gender Balance in Engineering
Engineering is about the practical delivery of scientifically informed solutions for the great challenges and opportunities in a rapidly changing world. It is therefore surprising that females are not as much part of this challenge as males." (P.J. Rudden, EGA President 2012-2016). Recommendations made in the EGA Gender Balance Report relate to a range of initiatives and have the potential to make a real difference to the female intake in UCD Engineering. The collective approach involving the EGA, UCD Marketing and Engineers Ireland representing the industry as a whole will succeed in getting the message across in a clear and effective manner and should encourage more women into Engineering.
