On Thursday 30 March 2023, EGA President Majella Henchion met with former past Presidents Tony O'Brien (2001 - 2004), Patrick Mercer (1995 - 1997), PJ Rudden (2012 - 2016) and Simon Kelly (2004 - 2008) for the EGA Past Presidents Luncheon. Joined also by Tanja Girdham, Alumni Relations & Marketing Officer for the College of Engineering & Architecture.
With the last luncheon held in 2019, followed by a three year gap due to the Covid pandemic, the UCD Engineering Graduates Association were once again delighted to host this event.
Former past presidents of the EGA but also old friends through connections from their time at UCD or industry, we were regaled by stories from their time both at UCD and their term as EGA President. They discussed the ever growing need for quality UCD Engineering students, for increased diversity in the profession and for enhancing the profile of engineering as a profession of choice for those who want to make a practical contribution to the wellbeing of humanity and of the planet for generations to come.
