BDIC Welcomes Professor Sun Lishan as Its New Principal
Prof Lishan Sun, Dean of the Beijing-Dublin International College at Beijing University of Technology since 2025. From 2021 to 2025, he held various positions including Dean of the Fan Gongxiu College and Dean of the Metropolitan Transportation College. He is a doctoral supervisor in Transportation Engineering at Beijing University of Technology, as well as the leader of an innovation team in key fields under the Ministry of Transport and the leader of an outstanding undergraduate education team at universities in Beijing. He has been recognized as a "Science and Technology Nova Star" in Beijing.
He has successively served as the President of the Beijing Transportation Engineering Society, the expert in the Expert Group of the National Urban Road Traffic Civilization and Smoothness Improvement Action Plan, the director of the Developing Countries Division of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in the United States, the council member of the China Transportation Education Research Association, the member of the Expert and Academic Committee of the China Urban Rail Transit Association, the member of the Youth Expert Committee of the China Highway Society, the member of the Youth Expert Committee of the China Intelligent Transportation Association, and the Deputy Director of the Traffic Modeling and Simulation Professional Committee of the China Simulation Society.
In the field of scientific research, he has long been dedicated to studies in traffic behavior, intelligent transportation, and rail transit. In recent years, he has led or participated in over 100 vertical and horizontal projects, including the National 973 Program, National Major Science and Technology Projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, Doctoral Program Fund of the Ministry of Education, Overseas Returnee Research Grant of the Ministry of Education, Construction Science and Technology Projects of the Ministry of Transport, and Science and Technology Planning Projects of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. He has published more than 100 academic papers, with over 30 indexed in SCI and 30 in EI, authored or co-authored 5 monographs and textbooks, and developed 2 standards and specifications. He has received awards including the Second Prize for Technological Progress from the China Urban Rail Transit Association, the Second Prize for Construction Science and Technology from the China Construction Science and Technology Award, two Second Prizes for Science and Technology from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Awards, and the Second Prize for Science and Technology from the Highway Society of China.
BDIC is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor SUN Lishan as Professor Wu’s successor in the position of BJUT Principal for BDIC. Professor Sun took up his new post last week.
BDIC also extends its best wishes to Professor Wu Wenying as she steps down from the Principal position. Her contributions have made a long-lasting impact on BDIC, and it has been a pleasure to benefit from her leadership.
