Dr Nima Afraz Receives Best Presentation Award at ICP 2024 and Announces New Publication at ICICSP 2025

In early September, Dr. Nima Afraz from the UCD School of Computer Science and BDIC attended the ICP Conference in Xi’an, China, where he presented two research papers. His work was recognised with the Best Presentation Award for the paper titled:
“Auction-Based Contact Scheduling in Non-Terrestrial Networks” Authors: Anupa De Silva and Nima Afraz (School of Computer Science / BDIC).
The paper introduces a novel auction-based framework for scheduling satellite communications, achieving an effective balance between efficiency and truthfulness in decentralized networks.
In addition, Dr. Afraz announced that his research group has another paper accepted for presentation at the upcoming 8th International Conference on Information Communication and Signal Processing (ICICSP 2025):
“GenC: Synthetic Conflict Generator for xApps in Open RAN” Authors: Abdul Wadud, Fatemeh Golpayegani, and Nima Afraz
This study presents a scalable, open-source framework designed to generate synthetic data for testing AI-driven conflicts in next-generation wireless networks (O-RAN).
The ICICSP 2025 conference took place from September 12–14, 2025, in Xi’an, China.
