Engineering Graduates Association Award goes to Zheng Yushi from BDIC

Mr Zheng Yushi, a UCD PhD student and Teaching Assistant on several BDIC modules, has been awarded the John T. Sheridan Memorial Travel Bursary at the Engineering Graduates Association. The award will support his attendance at academic conferences including Photonics Asia.

Professor Sheridan was Head of School at the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering until his sudden passing in November 2022, and is warmly remembered by all who knew him. His family created the bursary in his memory last year, with additional support from Prof Emeritus Aonrai de Paor and the School.

Mr Zheng is currently in Beijing for Teaching Assistant duties, and accepted the honour by video message.
