Health and Safety is central to all our activities in the School of Biology and Environmental Science whether that be in the laboratory, on fieldwork, in our plant growth facilities or in an office environment. All staff members and students have important obligations and responsibilities to make sure the School of Biology and Environmental Science is a safe workplace for all.
To support our activities, the Safety, Insurance, Operational Risk, and Compliance (SIRC) Office in UCD provides staff and students with advice, support and training across many areas including compliance, risk, safety, emergency response and insurance.

It is therefore vital that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported promptly to ensure that the University is compliant in fulfilling its statutory accident reporting duties. For Undegraduate and Visiting students, you must report the incident to a member of staff, who will comply with UCD SIRC Office procedure
