Biomechanics

What are Biomechanics

Biomechanics, the study of the structure and function of biological systems subjected to forces or displacements, is of critical importance in a number of areas, such as medical device design, restorative surgery, and providing understanding into the rupture of aneurysms. Through a combination of experimental and computational methods, biomechanics analysis of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems aims to develop next generation medical devices, provide novel insight into biological systems, and help clinicians make confident surgical decisions.
