Medical Device Design

Medical Device Design requires an understanding of clinical, technical and legal/regulatory needs and requirements.

UCD Medical Device Design research focuses on three key thematic areas:
  1. Delivery devices, with a particular focus on platform technologies, offering smart ways of delivering next-generation therapeutics through minimally invasive approaches
  2. Novel implantable medical devices, including devices with embedded sensors and capacity for therapeutic delivery
  3. External assistive devices, including orthotics and mobility devices
