Chang’an University President Leads Senior Delegation to UCD for Joint Management Committee Meeting

UCD welcomed the new President of Chang’an University, Professor Li Shutao, on the occasion of his first official visit. Professor Li was accompanied by a senior delegation including Huang Guanwen, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Li Manliang, Director of the Office of High-level Talent Work; Zhang Jiupeng, Dean of the Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation; Wang Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Information Engineering; and Cheng Li, Vice Dean of the Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation.

President Li led the senior delegation to UCD for the Joint Management Committee (JMC) meeting. The JMC is the highest decision-making body of the International College, responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of long-term plans, annual work programmes and budgets, institutional reporting, and the appointment of academic and administrative leaders.

Beyond the JMC meeting, the delegation took part in a series of academic and institutional engagements across UCD. These included meetings with Professor Julien Mercille, Head of the School of Geography; Associate Professor Vincent Hargaden, Head of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering; CDIC and UCD academic staff; and Civil Engineering PhD students.

On 12 December, the delegation visited UCD Nova to gain an overview of UCD’s innovation and entrepreneurship facilities, followed by a visit to Huawei Ireland, highlighting the strong links between the partnership, industry, and applied research.
