Dr Kevin Duffy

Kevin Duffy is an Assistant Professor in the geotechnical engineering group at University College Dublin. His research focuses on field monitoring and deep foundations, particularly on integrating ground modelling and construction data to optimise design and minimise construction risks. Kevin was previously a post-doctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands where he researched foundation reliability and lifespan extension measures for both deep-sea quay walls in the Port of Rotterdam and ageing quay walls along the picturesque canals of Amsterdam. He holds a PhD in geotechnical engineering from Delft University of Technology, as well as a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at University College Dublin.

Kevin has also worked extensively as a consultant for the offshore wind sector, particularly on ground modelling and foundation design.

Dr Duffy will be teaching three modules in the Spring semester: Soil Mechanics 1, Soil Mechanics 2 and Geotechnical Engineering.

Welcome to UCD Kevin!
