✅Fee Waivers for EU students

The UCD School of Computer Science is pleased to announce the availability of fee waivers for our 2025/2026 full-time EU students (including Ireland) who are offered a place in our MSc in Advanced AI. Those awarded will be given a full or partial fee waiver for the programme. It does not include a stipend or other funding (i.e. for accommodation).

The following fee waivers are available:

1. One full and one 50% fee waiver to be the ambassadors for the MSc in Advanced AI programme.

2. One full and one 50% fee waiver to be the female ambassadors for the MSc in Advanced AI programme.

These fee waivers are open to applicants who qualify for the EU fee rate. The awards will be made to students with outstanding undergraduate records.

Application Deadline: June 6, 2025

What Criteria Are Used to Decide the Awards?

The fee waiver will be awarded by a committee of CS School faculty. These merit awards will be based on outstanding academic performance in modules relevant to the MSc in Advanced AI programme. We will also consider the number of relevant modules taken by the student and their level of preparedness for studying for this programme. All decisions of Programme Directors are final.

There is no separate application process for these scholarships. All EU-fee status applicants who receive an offer or a conditional offer for the MSc in Advanced AI by the deadline stated above are automatically considered. The results will be notified within three weeks afterwards.

Scholarships may be awarded prior to the closing date to exceptional candidates. Early application is recommended.

 Terms and Conditions:

1. Applications are open to students from the Republic of Ireland and the European Union. Students from European countries which are not members of the European Union are not eligible. The female ambassador fee waiver is open to all successful female EU applicants for the MSc in Advanced AI programme.

2. In order to be eligible to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must have ‘Offer’ or ‘Accept’ (or "Conditional Offer" or "Conditional Accept") status associated with their application by the application deadline.

3. Students awarded a scholarship must commit to attending UCD CS Open Events where required. Students will also be required to participate in the promotion of the School and Scholarships (interviews/testimonials, blogs, news, or other forms of promotional activity as required). Scholars are expected to assist occasionally as ambassadors for the School.

4. Once scholarship awards are issued, students must accept this offer within two weeks of the notification being distributed by the committee. It is the student’s responsibility to formally accept the scholarship offer; a non-response will be considered as declining the offer.

5. Decisions will be made by the Scholarship Committee, and all decisions are final.

6. The issued scholarship will be deducted from the student’s University fee account.

7. Continuous full-time enrolment and attendance are required to retain a scholarship award.

8. Successful applicants must attend the programme in person. Remote attendance is not permitted.

9. A student who withdraws, cancels or becomes inactive, enrols less than full-time, is suspended, or dismissed from the University will lose their scholarship eligibility. A student who takes such a status due to medical reasons may appeal in writing to the Scholarship Committee to have her scholarship reinstated. The appeal must be submitted with supporting documentation, such as a letter from a doctor. In such a case, for there to be a possibility for reinstatement, a student’s leave from the University cannot exceed two consecutive trimesters.

10. A student who declines an initial offer of admission and accompanying scholarship offer will not retain their scholarship offer if they reapply at a later date.

11. If a student defers enrollment, they forfeit the fee waiver and can reapply at a future date.

12. These fee waivers are only for the MSc in Advanced AI programme and cannot be used for other programmes, nor can students transfer to other programmes.

13. Scholarships may be awarded before the deadline.

14. Any additional fees accrued in the event of a repeated module will not be covered by the waiver.

15. Student centre levy is not covered by the fee waiver.

16. By applying for the scholarship, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.
