Adjustments

Adjustments

While Driver Based Planning is the primary approach to student and fee planning, there may be cases where it is appropriate to directly enter amounts for plans. Examples would include:

  • A balancing adjustment to reconcile between the census and the base plan from which planning isperformed. This is not necessary, but it may simplify things to start with a base plan that completely matches the census.
  • An adjustment for expected material changes in Other Majors. A comment or supporting information should also be recorded.
  • Temporarily entering an amount during the planning cycle, and then going back and replacing it with amounts entered via the driver based planning approach.
  • Entering a relatively small adjustment that should be incorporated in the plan totals, but is not material when spread over the relevant majors.
  • Where relevant, information should be entered for all 3 accounts - Registrations, FTEs and Majors - as each account needs to be aggregated to higher levels for college-level or uuniversity-level reporting.

If adjustments are in any way material to the plan, details must be entered. This can be done via Comments or Supporting Detail (right-click and select Comments or Supporting Detail). See (opens in a new window)this video for guidance on how to add Comments or Supporting Detail.
