In the Major List sub-form the Fee Income, Major Registrations and FTEs are displayed. The relevant Factors (e.g. Ave Fee Rate per FTE) are also displayed for the most recent Census if they have been calculated and loaded. Normally they are only loaded for a census which will be used as the basis of Five Year Planning.

Repeat Registrations and Other FTEs are not included alongside Major Registrations (they are shown further to the right) as they do not drive Fee Income planning.

The user has the option to also display another census for comparison – the Compare Census. This is set via User Variables and may also be set from the Point Of View. As is generally the case, the current Census information columns are shaded magenta; the Compare Census data is shaded blue.

This sub-form allows the data for a particular Major to be displayed – the totals are shown in the first row, then information for the current School, then for all Schools.

Note that the Point-Of-View does not utilise a variable for the Major. When you select a Major, the background will be changed to yellow and you must click on the arrow to apply your change and retrieve data.

The FRE Review form presents Fee Related Expenditure information for the Current Census for the 3 account categories Local Fee Related Expenditure, Commission Recharges and Scholarship Recharges. Student-level information is split between EU and NonEU and the information is listed by Major, summarised by level.

Where information does not relate to an individual student, or where data is missing, it is reported as NonEU and as ‘Non-Registration Generated Input’.

This form enables comparison of the current census versus the budget by Major, Stage and EU/NonEU, with calculation of variances for Registrations, FTEs and Fee Income.

Point Of View

The Point of View allows selection of:

• SFSchool - a school or college may be selected;
• Level - All Levels or a particular level may be selected
• View - in order to see all data, ensure that AllSources is selected. Alternatively, select from My Majors, Shared Majors or Other Majors. Note that 'AllSources' will also include data that was not entered against a Major ie adjustments. 

Tips

View is not a User Variable and so when the value is changed the background is shaded yellow and the user must click on the arrow to apply the change. The data will then be updated.

As with other forms,

• Data can be sorted by right-clicking on a column heading and choosing the sort option.
• All data can be exported to Excel using the Spreadsheet Export command from the Actions menu.
• The form can be opened in SmartView if you pefer to work directly in Excel.

The Overview Of Censuses allows the user to see information for all censuses loaded to PBCS, side-by-side. Data is shown by level, for combined EU & NonEU and this can be expanded to show EU and NonEU separately.

From the Point-Of-View (POV), the user may select the entity using the SFSchool variable, the campus and the account. All Gross Fee Income or Net Fee Income are usually the options desired.

As account is not a variable, the user needs to click on the arrow at the end of the POV to apply a change. The Account background turns yellow to indicate this.
