Plan v Census

There are sub-forms to view the Plan V Census at summary or detailed level

When reviewing the data, it may be convenient to sort the data. Sorting the first variance column in Descending order will allow speedy review of the larger variances to determine whether any are material. Remember that variances can be positive or negative, so be sure to review large positive variances and also large negative variances.

Plan v Archive

The Plan may also be compared against an Archive version. Last Year's Plan or the Overnight version are generally the most useful versions.

Summary Plan V Census

The Summary Plan shows the Census, the Five Year Plan and calculated Variances at summary level. If a college is selected for the SFSchool variable in the Point-Of-View, then information at college level followed by each school is shown; if a school is selected then information for that school alone is selected. Information is shown by Level and can be exploded by Major Type (My Majors, Shared Majors, Other Majors), by Jurisdiction (EU, NonEU) and by Stage.

Detailed Plan V Census

In the detailed form the level may be selected from the Point-Of-View and information is displayed at Major level. Only My Majors and Shared Majors are displayed as, by definition, Other Major data matches the census.

Plan v Archive - Summary & Detail forms

These forms allow comparison between Plan versions (selected using FMInputVersion variable) and Archive versions (selected using FMArchiveVersion).

Typical comparisons are

• the current Working Plan or a What-If version against last year's Plan;
• the current Working Plan or a What-If version against the Overnight version
• the current Working Plan against a What-If Version (the What-If versions may be selected for FMArchiveVersion even though strictly speaking they are not archives).

The account may be selected from the Point of View and variances are calculated.
