Intake

Intake

Intake represents the number of Major Registrations as at entry of the year being planned, for Entry Stages, typically Stage 1. Usually this is as at the previous September, and as there isn't a Census at September, November is used as the proxy.

Factor Description Entity Notes
Intake Method Defines whether Intake will be Calculated or manually Entered Campus / Major / Stage

The Intake Factor will be ignored if the Method is set to Entered.

Intake Factor Expresses the relationship between Major Registrations at the start of the year and the time at which registrations are planned – typically February. Campus / Major / Stage

The Intake Factor is used to estimate the Intake from the number of planned Registrations– therefore it works backward from Feb to the preceding start of year.

Default Intake Factors are calculated as the ratio of February 2019 registrations to November 2018 registrations. E.g. 100 Registrations in November and 95 Registrations in Feb produce an Intake Factor of 100/95. If 110 registrations are planned for a future year, then the Intake Factor will produce a calculated Intake for that year of 116.

Intake is input on the Input form, and calculated values can be seen on the Review form.

Intake may also be reviewed for a Group.
