UCD Welcomes Student Moral Education Centre of the Shanghai Academy of Educational Science

UCD was delighted to welcome visitors from the Shanghai Student Moral Education Centre (SMEDC) of the Shanghai Academy of Educational Science (SAES) to campus today. During the visit, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a bilateral training programme for professionals in student affairs. The aim of the collaboration is to gain understanding on how student affairs and student support are managed in China and in Ireland.

This visit was brokered through UCD's links with the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. The delegation was welcomed by Associate Professor Paul Fanning (Deputy Vice-President for Global Engagement) and also met with Ms Aine Galvin (Director, UCD Teaching and Learning) and Ms Aisling O'Grady (Head of the Student Advisory Service). Discussions took place on future collaborations, which will build on from UCD's existing successful partnership with SMEDC's parent body, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, who visited UCD in September 2017.
