Erasmus+ 2024 call for proposals launched

The European Commission has launched the 2024 call for proposals under Erasmus+, the European Union’s programme to support education, training, youth, and sports.

This year, the European Commission has put aside €4.3 billion in its efforts to continue supporting transnational experiences of school pupils, students and staff in higher education as well as vocational education and training, young people and educators in non-formal learning, and adult learners.

Public and private organisations and institutions across Europe are invited to submit project proposals under three Key Actions: Learning Mobility of Individuals; cooperation Among Organisations and Institutions; and Support to Policy Development and Cooperation including Jean Monnet actions.

Staff members - teaching and professional - from all colleges, schools, departments and units across the university are invited to take a look at the funded opportunities for staff to learn more about available funding opportunities under Erasmus+ including deadlines for each action.

The programme includes a wide range of actions many of which may be of which interest to UCD staff - examples include:

  • International Credit Mobility - staff can apply (via UCD Global) for projects involving staff and/or student mobility for teaching, training or learning with partners in a number of third countries not associated with the Erasmus+ programme (click here to see a full list of countries). For this action an internal deadline of 19 January 2024 applies - please contact globalprojects@ucd.ie for details.
  • Cooperation Partnerships - these are transnational projects designed to enable organisations to develop and share innovative practices and promote cooperation, peer learning and exchanges of experiences in the fields of education, training and youth.
  • Erasmus Mundus Actions - these are aimed at the design and delivery of innovative master level programmes jointly designed and jointly delivered by an international consortium.

Project proposals will need to address at least one overarching priority of the Erasmus+ programme. These are; inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environment and fight against climate change and participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement.

The 2024 Erasmus+ programme guide includes a new emphasis on the promotion of shared values such as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, as well as fighting any sort of discrimination so proposals will need to address this also.
