The School congratulates Elva Johnston on receiving a Research Ally Award for Doctoral Supervision

The Irish Research Council has inaugurated a new national award, the ‘Research Ally Prize’ to recognise the work of supervisors, mentors and Research Officers (https://research.ie/what-we-do/loveirishresearch/blog/the-research-ally-prizes-new-national-awards-recognise-support-and-inclusiveness-in-the-irish-research-system/). The School is delighted that Associate Professor Elva Johnston was one of the 15 UCD recipients. Her award was in recognition of her contribution as a doctoral supervisor. Dr Johnston is an expert on Late Antique and Early Medieval Irish history and has supervised many graduates, raising the profile of this area of history while mentoring a new generation of early career scholars.
