Acting Centre Director, Assoc. Prof. Hasheem Mannan gave lectures and seminars as JSPS Fellow

Prof. Mannan’s research is entitled ‘Disability rights in action: a comparison of the first government reports of Japan and Ireland’, and he will spend time at Aoyama Gakuin University to carry out the research in November/December 2025. Prof. Mannan’s research will be hosted by Prof. Yuko Chiba at Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU), Shibuya, Tokyo.

Profs. Mannan & Chiba hosted a public seminar for the Disability Week "Advancing International Human Rights Law through the UN CRPD: Insights from Japan–Ireland Government Reports and Disability Employment in Japan" on 17 December 2025.

During his research stay, Assoc. Prof. Hasheem Mannan (Acting Director, UCD Centre for Japanese Studies; UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems; UCD IRIS Centre) gave several lectures regarding social inclusion and disability rights at AGU
