(24th May 2021) Congratulations to Dr William Martin (DCRC PhD ICAT Fellow) and UCD DCRC colleagues (Dr E. Brennan, Prof. C Godson) and supervisors (Assoc. Prof. N Docherty, Prof. Carel le Roux) for their presentation on mechanisms underpinning reductions in diabetic renal injury following intentional weight loss which was awarded best oral presentation on omics and DKD at the 33rd European Diabetic Nephropathy Study Group (EDNSG) meeting on 21st May 2021.
The data points to synergism between weight loss and drug treatments which may improve outcomes for people with diabetic kidney disease.
