Introduction to MRI

This course is aimed at radiographers/registrars beginning their training in MRI. It may also be beneficial for MR radiographers who may require a refresher course to update their knowledge and skills.

It will provide a foundation for basic MRI physical principles and clinical applications, leading to an informed selection and manipulation of pulse sequences. It will deliver theoretical clinical knowledge to aid competency in the field of MRI. The course will be delivered by UCD academic staff.

Session 1: 
  • Magnetism from the very beginning 
  • The Basics of Neuro MRI
  • Detailed MRI Neuroanatomy
Session 2:
  • MRI Sequences - The Fast Spin Echo 
  • MRI of the Biliary System and Pancreas
  • MRI of the Prostate
