The Department of Postgraduate Medical Education, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, in collaboration with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, delivers an acclaimed Management Programme for Clinicians. This bespoke programme has been devised to meet the needs of doctors in the unique environment of healthcare with a focus on practical skills development through highly-interactive discussions, role-plays and simluations. This programme will provide clinicians with an opportunity to develop and enhance their knowledge of relevant management language, tools and best practice.
In part fulfillment of course requirements, candidates are required to prepare a business plan for a novel healthcare initiative. These ideas are competitively selected, with the finalists invited to pitch their proposals to a panel of healthcare / business leaders. The overall winner, selected from the finalists, is awarded a medal on the night.
