Irish Association for Cancer Research 2016 Meeting
The Irish Association for Cancer Research announce that their 2016 meeting will take place in the Kingsley Hotel, Cork on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th February 2016.
Online abstract submission system is now available here.
Deadline for abstracts is: Friday 27 November 2015.
The Abstract word count should be a maximum of 350 words (including title). No tables or figures should be inserted into the abstract title or text. All abstracts must be submitted via the online submission system. Please note that all submissions made should receive an acknowledgement email to include a reference number. If you do not receive this email, your abstract has not been submitted correctly.
The meetings plenary Sessions include: Microbes and Cancer, Immune based therapies in Cancer, Targeting Oncogenic Signalling Networks in Cancer and ‘The New Hallmarks of Cancer’.
To date, confirmed speakers include: Dr Mark Tangney (UCC, Ireland), Prof Len Seymour (Oxford, UK), Prof Kingston Mills (TCD, Dublin), Prof Gordon Freeman (Dana Farber, Boston), Prof Jochen Prehn (RCSI, Dublin), Prof Ciaran Morrison (NUIG), Dr. Susana Godinho (Barts Cancer Institute, London), Prof John Greally (Albert Einstein, NY) and Prof Fran Balkwill (Barts Cancer Institute, London)
This year, for the first time, an evening session on the Wednesday night before the meeting (the 24th) which has been organised by the recently elected IACR Junior Council. This session focuses on the many career paths available to cancer researchers (particularly post PhD) and on communicating IACR research to the wider community. This session targets young and new members to the cancer research community, providing a forum for older more experienced researchers/CEO’s/patients to pass on their experiences and advice, through a short talk and a discussion panel.
