UCD Student Medical Journal Launch
The Executive team of the UCD Student Medical Journal cordially invite staff and students to the launch of the Journal’s 3rd edition. The event takes place in the Fitzgerald Debating Chamber, UCD Student Centre on Tuesday April 26th at 7pm.
The evening will consist of a panel discussion on ‘Burnout | Reaching a Work Life Balance’ followed by a reception. This important topic for medical students and doctors will be discussed by four individuals representing different areas of society and medical science.
The confirmed speakers include:
- Dr Leo Varadkar T.D. (acting Minister for Health)
- Lynda Sisson (Director of Professional Competence at Medical Council, Ireland)
- Dr Sylvester Mooney (Clinical Director at webdoctor.ie)
- Dr Denise Sadlier (Consultant Nephrologist at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital)
RTÉ Morning Ireland presenter Dr Gavin Jennings will be moderating the discussion.
The purpose of the journal is twofold: to help students, past and present, understand the publishing process and get published; and to help build a curiosity for research and push the boundaries of current thinking within our student population. The UCD Student Medical Journal Committee believe that the content is of an excellent standard, and the committee is keens to show as many people as possible that this body of talent exists within our medical school.
