This module introduces participants to the mindsets, skills and practical tools necessary to develop a creative leadership practice, one that cultivates a workplace culture where creativity and innovation flourish. This module explores a new kind of leadership which unlocks creativity and innovation in the workplace. Learners will explore their personal strengths, weaknesses, mindsets and values as a creative, innovative leader. Participants will learn how to lead self and teams in experimentation, creative problem solving and idea generation. They will be introduced to the skills of holding the tension of ambiguity as part of leading an organisational innovation process. They will acquire the skills to strengthen self-awareness, self-reflection and resilience. They will practice team collaboration in experiential problem-solving challenges.

Notes:

Enrolment in an Innovation Academy course means a commitment to active participation and engagement, which necessitates attendance at all scheduled classes.

Emerging and experienced leaders who work in a learning and education role, whether that be in schools, colleges, companies, non-profit organisations, the public sector and more.

You’ll develop your creative mindset and explore values-led leadership, a key requirement in building resilience for the ambiguity of the future. You’ll meet likeminded changemakers and join a community of practice, of benefit to you now and into the future.


To navigate challenges such as the sustainability crisis, technological disruption, changing working life and shifting global complexity, today's leaders in Education require the mindsets, skills, and tools to seize opportunity and lead creative innovation. Education, and Educators, must keep pace with these challenges to prepare learners of all kinds to flourish in an uncertain future. This module creates space for  Leaders in Education to explore the knowledge, skills and mindset to do so by fostering innovative thinking and practices within themselves, their teams and their organisations. It also provides Educators with dedicated time and space to find inspiration, ideas, support, motivation and a community of practice to sustain them.

A dynamic live online format. The classes are interactive and collaborative.

Applicants must hold an NFQ Level 8 honours degree (or international equivalence) in a relevant subject or >5 years of relevant professional experience.

 Reflection reports and full participation are required.

Please note: Learners can avail of only one form of funding per application. 

Micro-Credentials Learner Fee Subsidy-Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3
The HCI Pillar 3 Micro-credential Learner Fee Subsidy has been introduced to enable more learners to address critical skills gaps and engage with lifelong learning through micro-credentials. The HCI Pillar 3 Micro-credential Learner Fee Subsidy is funded by Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. 

HCI Micro-credential Learner Fee Subsidies are available on identified micro-credentials only from March 2024 until October 2025. Funded places are limited and course providers will administer the subsidy on a first come first serve basis.

Feedback is given continuously through class activities. Individual feedback on reflection can be given upon request.

On successful completion of this micro-credential, you will receive credits as per the European Credit and Transfer System. These credits are recognised by the awarding institution as credits aligned to learning completed at postgraduate level.
