Fagus

FagusBeech

Fagus sylvatica (Beech) is native in England and Europe and naturalised in Ireland. It grows to 30 - 40m and produces a tall straight grey trunk.  Fagus sylvatica , Common Beech and various forms are commonly planted in parks and gardens.  It is also planted in rural parklands. Beech makes a fine large hedge and is sometimes used for topiary.
