Congratulations to Professor John J. McConnell who received an Honorary Doctorate at the recent UCD College of Business graduation ceremony.  A world-renowned financial economist, Professor McConnell holds the Burton D. Morgan Distinguished Chair of Private Enterprise (in Finance) at the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University, where he has spent much of his career.  He has published more than 100 articles in leading peer-reviewed finance, economics and management journals and has served on the board of numerous US financial institutions.

As a longstanding friend of UCD and UCD School of Business, Prof McConnell has been a member of several advisory boards at our University.  In his introductory address, UCD’s Professor John Cotter emphasised that international relations with figures of the pedigree of Professor John McConnell ensures the growth of UCD’s global brand.
