UCD College of Business to host world renowned marketing scholar
UCD College of Business will welcome Professor Jagdish N. Sheth, the Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, USA for an online conversation on Tuesday, 27th of April at 14:00.
Professor Sheth is globally known for his scholarly contributions in consumer behaviour, relationship marketing, competitive strategy, and geopolitical analysis. He has trained some of the world's top CEOs and practitioners who are positively transforming societies. Professor Sheth has also advised, and continues to advise policy-makers globally.
The event will be chaired by Dr Penelope Muzanenhamo PhD, Assistant Professor in Business in Africa specializing in Marketing.
“Socio-economic disparities, global pandemics, technological advances and climatic changes are transforming people, work and society in unprecedented ways,” said Dr Muzanenhamo, who is also the Africa lead within the Centre for Business and Society (CeBaS) at UCD College of Business, and Co-Director, People, Work and Society, Earth Institute University College Dublin. “Businesses are among the primary drivers of such transformation.”
“A critical issue concerns the role that businesses, in particular Marketers, can, should and must play ethically as value creating agents, in order to achieve a sustainable people, work and society triad. Our conversation with Professor Sheth will therefore explore this issue in more detail,” continued Dr Muzanenhamo.
Professor Jagdish Sheth’s leading scholarship and insights into global competition, strategic thinking, geopolitics, and emerging markets are considered globally transformative.
In addition, Professor Sheth has over 50 years of combined experience in teaching and research at the University of Southern California, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Columbia University, MIT, and Emory University.
Opening remarks will be given by Professor Damien McLoughlin, Anthony C. Cunningham Professor of Marketing Head, Marketing Subject Area UCD Smurfit School. The event will conclude with closing remarks from Dr Mags Crean, Councillor, Wicklow County, Ireland and Postdoctoral Researcher, UCD School of Education, and Co-Director, People, Work and Society, Earth Institute University College Dublin.
