The Aoife Carney Memorial Fund was established, in 2021, in memory of Aoife Carney. Aoife served as the SCBE administrative manager from 1998 until 2021, when she passed away tragically. Aoife was much-loved and well-respected by students and staff within the School and beyond. She was known for her warmth and genuine interest in people and was the first port of call for anyone in need of help, advice or simply a listening ear.
The purpose of the Aoife Carney Memorial Award is to:
- Commemorate Aoife and continue her legacy of having a positive impact on the SCBE students and their well-being, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
- Positively affect the personal development of SCBE students and/or the wider community.
Awardees will use the award to support the undertaking of an activity to benefit their personal development or the wider community through social engagement. The Aoife Carney Memorial Award will carry a bursary of €3000.
