"Chinese Language and Culture Take Center Stage: IICS Students Shine at #ThinkLanguages Week 2023 Event!"
Four students from the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (IICS) participated in the Language Taste event organised by Dr Eileen Bowman from the UCD School of Education on Thursday, 30 November. Braeden Trenti, first year student who is taking an elementary Chinese language module at the IICS, and Yixin Wu, an MA student majoring in Teaching Chinese Language and Culture, carried out Chinese language taste sessions for all attendees. Yuke Ge and Yuxiao Xiang, who are also from IICS' MA program, organised workshops on Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting.
This extremely successful event hosted more than 150 Transition Year students at UCD. It is part of the #Thinklanguages Week 2023, the sixth year of the endeavour to promote the study of foreign languages at the secondary level, especially in the Transition Year at Irish post-primary schools. It is expected that over 15,000 TY students from 180 schools nationwide are involved this year.

11月30日星期四，来自爱尔兰中国研究院 (IICS) 的四名学生参加了由都柏林大学教育学院 Eileen Bowman 博士组织的语言品味活动。 在IICS学习初级汉语课程的一年级学生布雷登·特伦蒂(Braeden Treenti)和汉语与文化教学专业硕士生Yixin Wu为全体参会人员进行了汉语品味课程。 IICS硕士项目的Yuke Ge和Yuxiao Xiang组织了中国书法和剪纸工作坊。
本次活动举办非常成功，吸引了150多名过渡学年的学生到都柏林大学参加活动。 同时也是活动#Thinklinguals Week 2023的一部分，这是该活动举办的第六年旨在努力促进中学外语学习，特别是在爱尔兰中学的过渡年。预计今年将有来自全国180所学校的15,000多名过渡学年学生参与其中。
