AINM - UCD Led Health Project wins €9.1 Funding Award

12th December 2025

AINM, an AI healthcare initiative led by UCD’s Clinical Research Centre under Professor Peter Doran, has secured €9.1 million from Ireland’s Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF). The project aims to develop hospital-ready AI decision-support tools using secure, privacy-preserving, federated infrastructure to advance clinical research and improve healthcare delivery.

Collaborators include Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Oblivious Software, and xWave Technologies. Partners highlight that the project will strengthen Ireland’s digital health ecosystem by enabling access to high-quality health data and real-world clinical validation.

Several UCD researchers from computer science, biomedical science, public health, and medicine are involved. The DTIF, a €500 million government fund supporting disruptive technological innovation, awarded AINM the largest grant in the latest funding round.

UCD is also a partner in another DTIF-funded project, PIONEER, which received €7.2 million to advance disease and immune-system research using advanced screening and electroporation techniques.
