Dr Downey awarded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Commendation

Congratulations to Dr Declan Downey, UCD School of History / UCD Centre for Japanese Studies who has been awarded a Commendation by the Foreign Minister of Japan, Mr Motegi Toshimitsu. The award is in recognition of Dr Downey’s outstanding contribution to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Ireland. He is among 172 individuals and 65 groups worldwide to be honoured.

The Commendations of the Foreign Minister of Japan are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas.
